Alfred University is excited to announce plans to celebrate the 125th anniversary of the New York State College of Ceramics (NYSCC). A host of events will take place on campus and at alumni gatherings across the country to honor the institution’s storied legacy and its contributions to art, engineering, and education.

As an undergraduate biology major at Alfred University in the early 2000s, Ross Munson took a plant biology class taught by Cheryld Emmons which included the study of photosynthesis. For the last nine years Munson, now a high school biology teacher in the Wellsville Central School District, has brought a group of his students to campus to take a day-long workshop and experience what it is like to learn in a college environment.

Students in Alfred University’s Marketing Club raised nearly $500 toward an effort to provide holiday gifts to needy families in the Hornell area, while at the same time supporting a local business.

Alfred University will host a showing of "King: A Filmed Record - Montgomery to Memphis," a documentary of the life of Martin Luther King Jr. at 7pm Monday, Jan. 27 in Nevins Theater.

University Advancement is accepting nominations for the Alfred University Alumni Awards that celebrate outstanding achievement, lifetime service, distinguished service, or unique accomplishments of young alumni. The awards will be presented during Reunion 2025.
